know I can't be the only person who waits until the last minute for some Christmas gifts. There are some people who are just so hard to buy for! So here are three do it yourself (DIY) Christmas gift ideas to keep you from being empty-handed on Christmas Day. 1. know I can't be the only person who waits until the last minute for some Christmas gifts. There are some people who are just so hard to buy for! So here are three do it yourself (DIY) Christmas gift ideas to keep you from being empty-handed on Christmas Day.
1. Homemade Lip Balm - This one takes a little time and more effort but it's such a fun thing to make and the recipient will love that it was handmade by you!
Here's a really easy recipe I found online:

  • 1 tablespoon cocoa butter
  • 1 tablespoon beeswax, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon almond oil
  • Melt beeswax and cocoa butter in a small dish by placing in a pot of boiling water.
  • When beeswax and cocoa butter are melted, carefully remove from heat and stir in almond oil.
  • Immediately pour into mini pots and let cool until solid (allow 20 minutes for cooling).
  • Once cooled put lid on pot.
*This recipe yields 5 pots
2. Gift Cards - Ok, this one is obvious and less DIY than the others, but the point is you can open your laptop and easily pick an online gift card like an Overstock.com Gift Card and have it emailed over to your recipient. The fun part is handing them a card as their "gift." Inside the card instruct them to check their email and boom, there's the actual gift in their email inbox! A very unique way to give a gift this Christmas.
3. Home cooked dinner - If you're missing that unique, personal gift that has a special touch, remember a home-cooked meal is a great option. Don't fret if you're not the cooking type, places like Omaha Steaks are a huge help with a large selection of meats, side dishes and even desserts! In fact, if cooking sounds way too scary for you or you know you just don't have time around the holidays grab an Omaha Steaks e-Gift Card and let him/her choose the meal. All you have to do is commit to preparing and cleaning up afterward. Either
way, a night free from cooking is music to anyone's ears.
I hope these few do it yourself ideas will help you finish off that Christmas list or at least spark your creativity in coming up with your own last minute idea.
