I did not have a clue, but my children had more than one dog's
Christmas idea. They in fact had a little list of things they wanted to
get for our family pet.
Among the list was the usual assortment of
treats. No Christmas is complete without the goodies, and my kids were
pretty sure that this included the pooch too. Being an accommodating
sort of parent I actually listened before I told them no. What they had
found was a dog cookie that was made with some natural ingredients and
then frosted to say "good dog". OK, so there was a little bit of sugar
involved, but it was not too expensive so I got it for them.
Next
on the dog's Christmas ideas list was a bunch of toys. They had squeaky
toys, soft toys, and chew toys. They picked out way too many toys, but
hey, they are kids. Of course they liked the toys because they actually
like playing with the dog with them. I did let them get a couple, and it
turns out that the dog had a great Christmas, but so did the kids.
They
had more fun playing with the dog and giving him the treats they picked
out than they did with anything else. How do I know? They were still
playing with the dog and his toys weeks later after they had gotten
bored with everything else they had gotten.
When I think about
that, I am letting them make a list again this year. It might cost me a
little more on presents than what I figured, but it's something I know
my whole family will enjoy.
A dog's Christmas idea is not that hard to come up with. It could also have everyone enjoying the holidays. For more ideas click here!
